How to change parent path for a VHD

May 20, 2009 at 3:04 PM

I have just started working with the Hyper-V powershell and I have been looking for a way to change the location (parentpath) that a VHD uses when looking for its parent disk in a differential relationship.  The VHD's I have are from a VPC VM and I am looking to automate bringing them across into a hyper-V configuration and was hoping to be able to change the path information so the parent directory could be changed, it seems to be escaping me at this time...

Thank you,

Paul

Get-VHDInfo will show you what the setting currently us, but I haven't written anything to change it. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc136960(VS.85).aspx documents a function for reconnecting the disk: I may add this for the 1.0c release
